Catwalkshow/End presentation 'The Basic Hairstylist'

Hi people,

I didn't write for a long time and that's because I've been really busy.. But I really wanted to still share this. Past July I finished my course 'The Basic Hairstylist' and as our final assignment we had to organize our own catwalk show. We had to do this together with our whole group. It was a really awesome assignment to do and I wanted to show you the result.
We had to choose our own theme; "Fifty Shades of Neon" and we had to organize EVERYTHING ourselves AND make beautiful hair on the models aswell.. Everybody had their own model and this is the result of mine!!
My friend Alyssa was my model and I'm very proud of what I made but also very proud of Alyssa for keeping up her head that day (litteraly)..
That's us together on the catwalk :-)

So far about that awesome day!
I also did a really cool photo shoot this summer.
More about that in my next post!

Pink&purple

Hi guys,

I just made a really great Colour and I wanted to show you what I did.
Couple of weeks ago I had a really great course called "the highlight specialist" @ the B academy. So with the techniques I learned I wanted to try something cool with my niece Manon.
So I used one of the techniques and used pink and purple to get a really cool effect.. And here is the result!

B Awards

Hi everyone

I know it's been a long time but here is finally a post about the assistent battle and the B Awards.
First of all, it was such a nice evening, really cool to have experienced that. We all came together in the afternoon to do each others hair and then we went to the academy where the B Awards was.
When we came in we got a nice glass of champagne en during the evening lots of nice food and drinks. It was a really good evening and at the and we also had a little after party where we danced and had a lot of fun!
For the assistant battle I had to do a little speech of 30 seconds what also was important for the result. Our picture was not that good as everyone else but because I did a really good speech we still got third place!! So happy with that.
So here see pictures of the event and our assistant picture. (It's not really clear cause I haven't got the real picture yet)
Thanks for reading.

Assistant battle

Hi everybody!

So here's something I wanted to show you all.
Last month I had a project with my colleagues. At the moment I am an assistant at the salon I work. So together with 4 other assistants we had to make beautiful hair for a shoot.
Every year there's this project that's organized by the salon. Salon B. Salon B has 9 salons in total and every salon has its own assistants. In this project every assistant-team has to make beautiful hair for a shoot. In January we have the "B-Awards" and then we can win an award for "Best assistant team". Pretty cool huh?
The theme this year was "hotel d'amour". When I heard that theme I found it really difficult. But then I made a couple of mood boards to make it more clear. So that's what I wanted to show you now.
I reaaalllllyyyyy want to show the result also because it was so cool. But I can not do that YET. So you'll have to wait for a couple of weeks.
But here's for you to allready get in the "hotel d'amour" mood ;-)

Keep reading for the result!

My first blog

Hi everyone (anyone who reads this ;))

So, my name is Alisa van Vaalen, I'm 21 years old and I live in Holland.
I'm a creative person who makes creative stuff so why not put it on a blog and write about it?!! I'm always checking other peoples blogs and actually never thought about making my own.. UNTIL TODAY!
Let me tell a little bit more about myself. (I'm the girl on the right on the picture together with my best friend Alyssa).

I have 3 big loves: Dancing, Hair, and my boyfriend Ben.
I know what you think, dancing, hair??? What does she do?! Well.. I used to study dance, I am a dancer my whole life and I was planning it to be my profession. Something I fought for very hard and for a very long time. But unfortunatly, after 5 years academy, my body and mind couldn't take it anymore. My body is too weak, always injuries, and just after 5 years of dancing and fighting with a lot of pain, I had to end it. And the best thing about that was; doesn't make me sad at all because I don't have to go back to the place where I always was in pain AND.. my second love...
Since I was 15 years old.. I worked in a hairdressers salon.. For like 5/6 years. It started actually as a fun job that I could make a little money with on saturday. But then I soon started to really like it and I really had feeling for it. So here was my plan: since you can only be a dancer till you're 30(ish) I have THE ANSWER.. After that, I become a hairdresser!!!! But you all know now that didn't work out... So I started education past september.. Liiiiiitle earlier than planned but who cares?! It is called "the Basic HairStylist" and it's at the B Academy in Amsterdam. And next to that I also work at a great salon called "Salon B" also in Amsterdam..
Oh.. And Ben.. He's just the most amazing person in the world.

So now you know little bit more about me.. (Hope it was not too boring:p)
And actually the conclusion is: started a new chapter in my life and I really like my life the way it is now.. Learning and making new things wich I really want to share with the world.

Thanks for reading and I hope that I can show one of my works soon!

Love, Alisa
